The Yoga of Awareness

From a more energetic and spiritual perspective kundalini yoga is a great detoxifier of built up energy we carry in or daily lives.

When we release built up energy that is not doing us good we create more balance within our body, mind, and spirit.

Practicing Kundalini yoga does not require a religious or spiritual belief. It can be used as any type of yoga to deal with and cleanse built up stress and restore enrgy within our bodies. It can also create that energy boost we need to awaken the body.

The focus of Kundalini is learning to breathe mindfully through different techniques and exrcises.

It is about being fully present in our whole being,

the mind, body and spirit.

Kundalini is a much easier to practice than other types of yoga. If you haven't tried yoga or find it hard to begin then Kundalini might be the right place to start. If you are pregnant or on your first days of mentruation some parts of Kundalini practice are not advised.

There are 2 types of breathing, be patient with learning these techniques, be sure to ease into it and take the time you need to learn it.

Breath of fire

The focus is to breathe through the stomach. This technique has shown to be very effective for various stomach conditions, like IBS, bloating, pains etc. It strengthens our nervous system and improves circulation. This exercise is a great tool for incresing the energy in our body after being seated and physically inactive a whole day in the office.

Pranayama

This breathing technique is focused on the nose, creating that calm breathing for slowing down the heartbeat. It creates a space of awareness and is a great tool for dealing with anxiousness, nervousness and various sleeping issues, like sleeping apnea.
